I went on a bit of a break on this site, both in terms of writing and programming. Part of the reason was my cycle trip across the alps. The other part is the fact that I am feeling very exhausted ever since coming back from that trip, so I've spent my time playing games rather than anything else. Right now I'm really into Dwarf eats mountain. This game makes me happy in a similar way that Universal Paperclips does. I guess I really am a sucker for incremental games with weird themes. 😆

I'm leaving for my big bike trip on next monday and while I'm not stressing out, my head is still pretty chaotic. Example: I want to write a list of things to pack. Makes sense, right? I know from experience, that If I don't do that, I will definitely forget to take SOMETHING. On the other hand, writing a list will make me realize how much of stuff I still need to pack and quickly overwhelm me. Which will make me go into ostrich mode where I put my head in the sand and pretend I don't, in fact, need to pack anything. The other thing about writing lists is that it still works best on paper. If I'm using an app, I quickly devolve into a bikeshedding machine, adding useless details and rearranging items without making any progress. So I will go with writing a list on paper, even if my inner nerd would rather write a Cycle Packing List app instead lol
