You’re probably feeling a little down. Well, good thing the new charity in town can help! All you have to do is call the main office and some weird critters will come and make you happy!
When you call the phone, a rather strained voice answers.
“Hello-uh?” He answers.
“Hello.” You respond. Matching his energy in a somewhat mocking way.
“Can you make me smile?” You ask, somewhat more cheery.
The phone line was filled with silence for a few seconds.
“…I’ll get someone to help-uh.” He says, before hanging up.
Before you know it, two strange looking critters show up to your door.
“Hello!! We’re the smiling friends!!” One of them shouts in a very cheery tone.
“My name is pim, and this is my friend Charlie!!” He says, almost jumping with excitement.
Charlie doesn’t talk or move at all. Pim looks up at him with a slight furrowed brow. Pim turns back to look at you, and with a somewhat sweet and quiet tone asks, “so, what’s got you down today?” You fidget with your hands as you explain what happened.
Charlie’s face lights up a bit, surprised to hear your story. Pim keeps a smile on his face, although obviously worried for you.
“That’s no good! But maybe we should focus on what’s going on now!! Look! Is your favorite show on tv?” Pim says, with his little hands pointing at your television set. You respond saying you’ve already seen all the episodes.
Pim tilts his head a bit. “Well, no better time to find your NEW favorite!!”pim points to a bookshelf in your room, full of unfinished books. “What about those books over there?” Pim asks, still smiling. “Maybe you could re-read your favorites…ooh! Or read some book you HAVEN’T finished!” You tell him you don’t feel like that right now.
Unrelated to the conversation, you can briefly see charlie attempting to steal one of your books off the shelf. He seems to notice you looking, and he puts it back quietly.
Pim tries to think of something new.
“Oh! What if we go on a shot walk and look at the flowers!” Pim eagerly smiles while explaining his idea.
You agree to go with them on a short walk.
As you go around the neighborhood, you notice lots of pretty flowers and animals, probably because pim pointed them out. You get a bit worn out, so you ask to sit down at a bench for a second. Charlie agrees to get a bit of rest, too. Although pim can’t properly reach the bench, he sits beside it and remains content. Charlie scrolls a bit on his phone, and notices an ad for a local cafe. He points it out to you and pim. Pim thinks it would be a wonderful idea to go get some tea or coffee today! So you decide to walk a short bit longer, and visit the cafe Charlie saw.
When you go through the cafe door, a little bell rings, alerting the cafe staff.
“Hello! What can I get you today?” The cafe staff says, a little louder than what you would expect.
Pim speaks up first, barely visible behind the counter.
“I’ll have the caramel latte, please!! Extra milk and whipped cream!!”
Since Charlie is still zoning out, you decide to talk next.
Charlie looks back at you for a second, with his eyebrows raised a bit.
“I’ll uh- I’ll get what they got.” Charlie says, somewhat invested and light.
The cafe staff puts the piping hot drinks on the table, and Charlie picks pim’s drink up for him. You walk back home slowly sipping the drinks you bought.
“Woah man, this is actually really good.” Charlie says, with a bit of drink still on his chin. This gets a little giggle out of you, and pim notices. “Was that a SMILE!?” Pim says, with a happy smirk. You sheepishly nod.
Pim and Charlie look at eachother, excited to get the job done.
“Well, we’d best be back off to the office then, yeah?” Pim says, in a relatively neutral tone.
“Yeah, nice seeing you though.” Charlie says, ready to go back to the headquarters.
You both go your ways back home, only now you feel way better!
