Dax is a macOS menu-bar app that puts small, sharp tools within a keystroke. Every tool has its own global shortcut — press it from anywhere, and the tool floats up over whatever you’re doing, does its one job, and gets out of the way. Nothing needs a Dock icon or a window switch. Dax is made for the way developers work alongside AI coding tools like Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and Gemini CLI. It lives in your menu bar, stays out of the way, and shows up the moment you press a shortcut.
Dax offers two ways to get started: bring your own OpenRouter key (BYOK) for direct, private AI calls, or sign up for a managed account with a Free or Pro plan — see How Dax works for details.
