As the set name suggests, 60494 Dump Truck & Front End Loader contains two construction earthmoving machines. Read on as I have a look at the third-largest LEGO City set released this year.
Today's random set is 7285 Police Dog Unit, released during 2011. It's one of 29 City sets produced that year. It contains 96 pieces and 1 minifig, and its retail price was US$12.99 / £8.99, which equates to about US$19 / £13 in today's money.
It's owned by 8,893 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you should find it for sale at Brick Owl, BrickLink, where new ones sell for around $32.50, or eBay.
Today's random figure is poc030Black Pearl Figurehead - Black (Monochrome), a Pirates of the Caribbean figure that came in one set, 4184 The Black Pearl, released during 2011.

The largest and potentially most eye-catching set in the new Olivia Rodrigo Editions subtheme is 43031 Olivia Rodrigo's Dual Guitar, a half-a-metre tall dual-personality guitar with two minifigures and some hidden interiors waiting to be revealed.
The set combines two very different guitars into one unusual display piece. The result is a striking model that combines many references to the singer's musical career with some surprisingly clever construction techniques for a fun build.
Minifigures are often the priority in LEGO Super Heroes sets, sometimes to the detriment of the actual models. There are few examples as stark as 76350 Spider-Man vs. Hulk Epic Clash, which seems extraordinarily bland, particularly for the price of £79.99, $89.99 or €89.99.
There is something interesting about such a set, however, with a brilliant selection of minifigures and potentially an enjoyable function. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is out now, so it is time to examine one of the stranger Super Heroes sets of recent years!
LEGO just had a huge wave of August releases, but there are even more sets to look forward to in September, including two new BrickHeadz packs that have just been revealed.
40859 Golden Age Superman and Batman and 40919 Gremlins: Gizmo and Stripe Figures will release on September 1st, each priced at £22.99, $24.99 or €24.99. Both pairs look superb to me!

Welcome to August and the unveiling of a new Christmas set! The festive season is mere months away and 40958 Christmas Stocking has been added to LEGO.com ahead of its release on October 1st.
I think it looks rather nice, featuring an intricate tiled pattern on the front and with various seasonal items emerging from the top. There is even an exclusive minifigure, presumably inspired by The Nutcracker. This set contains 342 pieces and will cost £29.99, $34.99 or €34.99, which seems a bit expensive relative to other Seasonal sets.
There have not been any Wednesday sets so far in 2026, until now, with the unveiling of two new additions to the theme.
76787 Wednesday Backpack and 76788 Nevermore Academy will both be released on October 1st, ready for Halloween, with the latter containing our first Wednesday minifigure, plus a couple of printed statue figures to populate the microscale school.
To celebrate the launch of the LEGO Pokémon SMART Play range, from today shoppers will receive 40887 Ditto as Squirtle: Movie Night with purchases of LEGO Pokémon SMART Play sets. The threshold of £115 is a rather sneaky one, as the way it lines up with the set prices means even with the largest set (£109.99) you need to buy more than one item to qualify. In many cases, customers would need to buy at least three or overshoot with two large sets.
This adorable little creep is one of my favourite representations in this rounded cuboid style, and to be honest, a whole range of ‘Ditto as…’ would have been fine in my books! These sets use countless new or recent pieces to achieve this characteristic smooth style, so let’s have a look after the break.

Also, those of you in North America can finally get your hands on the summer NINJAGO, City and Friends sets that were launched elsewhere in June.
