It wasn't fair.
Her bond with Hyuna only existed because because they were the same. Both had lost the battle; both survived the stage. Hyuna had succeeded in what Sua couldn't (survival) and what Mizi couldn't (saving someone). The deep-set pains under their sternums were identical twins. Both recognized the ache of your soul being pinched apart, and the space in your heart that couldn't be filled.
It wasn't fair. Why did Hyuna got to hug Luka one last time?
This was betrayal.
Mizi had always known their bond was casual. Just a mutual understanding. (Had she ever understood Hyuna as well as she'd thought?)
(If Sua appeared in front of her, wouldn't Mizi forget everything else too?)
Hyuna was safe to fall for because she was her own god. She got shot? She survived. She was loud, her hair was long, her outfits were practical. She flirted with Mizi because it was fun, not out of devotion. When Mizi died, Hyuna would be able to move on.
This wasn't supposed to be possible. Hyuna wasn't supposed to die in Luka's arms, something Mizi never even got with Sua. Her death was the only way Hyuna and Sua were alike.
Mizi liked that they were separate; that Hyuna was safe. The worlds of her two loves weren't supposed to mix.
What was she supposed to do with another hole in her heart?
Maybe it was time to give up on ever filling it.
