Work Text:
Masacrik was not known for being easy to deal with. Far from it, in fact. Things had to go his way, reports had to be written exactly how he wanted, and if one singular piece of equipment was misplaced, he’d comb through every single person who’d been near until someone fessed up and apologized.
It was almost hell sometimes, working under him. Buttercup had no idea how he and Strawberry got stuck with him. At least he got to spend his days with his crush. Maybe one day he’d be able to confess to her; he was pretty sure she was aware of his feelings, but she hadn’t indicated any reciprocation yet. Maybe she was gathering her courage too.
That’s what he had to believe. Masacrik had spent more than enough time taunting Buttercup, telling him that Strawberry had no feelings for him, disliked him even.
At least, he thought it was taunting. Someone had smacked him upside the head and said, “You idiot! He’s telling you that because he’s jealous of Strawberry!”
How was he supposed to believe that though? Masacrik, jealous of Strawberry, wanting to be with Buttercup? It was the most absurd thing he had ever heard.
